The intervention is located in Ourense street 69, within a building designed in 1979 by Eleuterio Población Knappe, architect from Huelva, Andalucia.

Given that the appartment had already expienced several transformations, the intervention aimed at bringing it back to its original essence, but reinterpreting the inner spaces/organization.

Whereas the bathroom maintains is location, the previously small kitchen gains spaciousness by opening up to the central space. This space comprises the living room, dining room and bedroom in the same volume. The bedroom dimensions stay the same but it gains natural ventilation and light thanks to a white wooden lattice. A curtain along the perimeter allows the combination of light and privacy. The bedroom is completed with the built-in closets and a beam and screen integrated in the ceiling, such that it is hidden when not in use.

The storage space revolves around the dividing wall, such that it goes unnoticed leaving most of the space clear and unobstructed for a versatile use of the living and dining room.

The inner lighting combines indirect perimetral light from hidden gaps with direct lights from circular adjustable lamps. This strategy allows the owners to play with lights and shadows, allowing different lighting conditions within the same space and thus adjusting to different potential needs.

Low saturation finishes aim at linking the apartment with the builing as a whole, through sprig-shaped geometries characteristic of formworks visible in the building common spaces, which usually comprise several floors and contain rich vegetation.

Finally, the façade canvas allows access to the terrace through wide windows that open up to a large outdoors space in downtown.
